PENGARUH PENYULUHAN KESEHATAN DENGAN METODE ROLE PLAY MENGGUNAKAN PHANTOM GIGI TERHADAP PRAKTIK MENGGOSOK GIGI PADA SISWA SDN 003 DAN SDN 002 MUARA BADAK ULU

Abstract / Deskripsi:
Background Dental caries is dental hard tissue damage. According Riskesdas 2013, data for the maintenance of teeth at age ≥10 years is 835.256, dental examinations at age ≥12 years is 789.771, the national prevalence of dental problems is 25,9 and as many as 14 provinces with prevalence of dental problems above the national average. How to prevent dental disease are brushing teeth, this prevention can be delivered through health counseling using health promotion method that is Role Play using imitation objects (phantom). Research Method Quasi-Experimental with Non-Equivalent Control Group design by performing pretest and posttest of brushing teeth practice. Research population of grade II at SDN 003 and 002 are as many as 134. Total sample are 100 people were divided into two groups. The instrument used is the observation sheet. Data are analyzed using Wilcoxon test and Mann-Whitney. Result of Research Health Counseling by the method of role play using dental phantom could increase the practice of brushing teeth significantly to students that shown by the results of Wilcoxon test namely P-Value 0,00<0,05 in the control group P-Value 0,159> 0,05 and the difference of the two groups P-value 0,00<0,05. Conclusion There is a significant effect to the health counseling method with role play using dental phantom on the brushing teeth practice to students at SDN 003 Muara Badak Ulu and there is a significant difference in the practice of brushing teeth between the experimental group that was given treatment with the control group that was not given treatment.
